Brielle Easton, New Member Coordinator

Brielle is the New Member Coordinator, Den Leader Training Coordinator and Special Needs Chair.

New Member Coordinator - Brielle works with making sure all our new members feel welcome and get onboarded properly. She organizes Back to Pack, our welcome meeting in September, and our June 1 Step Up Picnic, where cubs move up to the next den. She is also the main contact for Spond, our roster management and group coordination app. As New Member Coordinator, she is also a den leader for our K-1 cubs!

Den Leader Training Coordinator - Brielle makes sure that all den leaders are trained on the requirements to lead a den, complete their Youth Safety training, and understand the Spond app.

Special Needs Chair - If there are any accommodations that our cubs need, she can assist in supporting them and communicating the needs to the den leaders. This can be anything from notifying the den of food allergies, providing additional resources to ensure comfort when attending any meetings or events, or specific accommodations for rank requirements. As a special needs friendly pack, accommodations are not specific to children with a diagnosis. If there is anything that we can do to help your child feel more comfortable, we want to work with your family to ensure that happens.

The special needs role is a newer role within the pack that started when my son, Caleb, joined last spring. He has level 1 autism and would get very nervous attending events that he didn't know who was going or what to expect. Pack events (where everyone shows up) were too overwhelming, so we decided to start with den meetings. I worked with Fabienne, who was his den leader in Tigers, and she provided a schedule of the meeting for us to review with Caleb before each meeting. Just that simple act really allowed him to lower his anxiety and enjoy the activities. The Raingutter Regatta was his first pack meeting and he ended up racing his boat by the end. I'm excited to help make scouting more accessible and inclusive!
