Leave No Trace
Instilling values in young people and preparing them to make moral and ethical choices throughout their lifetime is the mission of Scouting America. Leave No Trace helps reinforce that mission, and reminds us to respect the rights of other users of the outdoors as well as future generations. Appreciation for our natural environment and a knowledge of the interrelationships of nature bolster our respect and reverence toward the environment and nature. Leave No Trace is an awareness and an attitude rather than a set of rules. It applies in your backyard or local park as much as in the backcountry. We should all practice Leave No Trace in our thinking and actions–wherever we go.

Camping
Animal and Insect Hazards
Much of Scouting occurs in the out of doors where we are the visitors and the animals, insects, and other creatures are at home. Scouting America has guidance will help protect cubs from infections and other risks that they can encounter and that may lead to serious illness.
Range and Targeting Activities
Cub Scout Range and Target Activities are available at District and Council Events only.
Archery, BB gun shooting, and slingshot shooting are restricted to day camps, Cub Scout, Webelos Scout & AOL Scout long term camps, council-managed short-term camps, or council activities where there are properly trained supervisors and where all standards for Scouting America range & target activities are enforced.
